Functional Characteristics:
1.Microcomputer automatic calorimeter is controlled by a standard personnel computer, maintains all functions of the computer and can be used with various common softwares. Other functional boards can be inserted into an expansion slot of the computer. The calorimeter can be used for calibrating heat capacity (energy equivalent) of the calorimeter system automatically and measuring calorific value thereof. An internal cylinder of the isothermal calorimeter is stirred electrically by a platy blade, while an external cylinder is stirred by a circulating pump, so that the water temperature is more uniform. In virtue of the water filling nozzle, pumping port and automatic water temperature adjusting part, the operation is simpler and more convenient. The instrument can be ignited in fusing or non-fusing manner, being convenient to use. 3. Calorimeter is operated on a WIN2000 operating system, ensuring safety and stability of the softwares. It enables the user to modify the data while controlling and to manage reports or do other jobs during test, facilitating the user and realizing multifunction actually. 4. Whole operation process of the system is indicated by characters and the test can be finished through following the prompts.

Experimental procedure
1. Testing heat value (1).Plug the calorimeter and refrigerator power into the socket, turn on the power of calorimeter, and “double-click” the shortcut of “Microcomputer automatic calorimeter” on the desktop. and then click “enter” to enter user interface of the calorimeter. (2).Take (less than 0.2mm) 0.9-1.1g sample from the crucible for analysis. Connect the ignition wires to two electrodes column of oxygen bomb respectively, if without cotton, the ignition wire should stay a good contact with the sample and should get touch with the crucible. Then add 10ml of distilled water into the Oxygen bomb tighten the cover and gently place it on Oxygen meter, adjust oxygen pressure to 2.8-3.0Mpa for 15-30S, (no less than 15S). Put oxygen bomb into the barrel, cover calorimeter lid, click "Start" button, then the system begins the test During the experiment; input sample weight, sulfur; hydrogen; water, ignition and so on so that software can automatically calculate the results and display them on the screen after test is completed. ? ?
2.Calibration heat capacity: In accordance with “national standard”, heat capacity is in need of calibration once every quarter in that once the temperature has a change of five 5 degrees, the accuracy for the calorimeter to measure the heat is quite poor. If the accuracy should be made sure, then a regular calibration heat capacity should be done. The process of the heat capacity and heat is similar. click "mode" on the calorimeter screen to change into the heat capacity model, take benzoic acid in the crucible (0.9-1.1g), add 10ml of distilled water into the oxygen bomb, put on oxygen bomb, tighten the oxygen bomb cover, and gently place it on the oxygen meter, to adjust oxygen pressure to 2.8-3.0Mpa,for 15-30S, (no less than 15S). Put the oxygen bomb into the inner barrel, cover the calorimeter cover, input the sample weight, acid calorific value, calorific value of ignition wire and click the “start” button, then the system will begin testing. When there are more than five samples are on testing, the system will automatically determine whether these results are consistent with “national standard” requirements or not. If they conform to the requirements, then the software will automatically convert the averages and automatically store the heat parameter which is a sign of end of calibration. In order to verify whether the marked hear capacity is available, benzoic acid can be used for back-annotate. If the calorific value of back-annotated benzoic acid is within the standard error range, then the heat capacity calibration is successful, if there is deviation, the system can be re-corrected in the “Settings.”
Routine maintenance To keep the instrument in a good condition and have a long life extension, you should regularly engage in checking and maintenance. After daily test, the surface of the instrument and the oxygen bomb should be wiped and dried, the seals should be checked to avoid wear and damage combustion. In case of leakage phenomenon, it should be replaced. Also the insulation mats and insulation sleeve should be regularly checked to avoid damage. In addition, 20.0Mpa pressure test should be done on oxygen bomb and it shall not be used more than 2 years after each pressure test. What is more, the water level of outer barrel should be checked and in case of lacking water, it should be promptly filled up; water in inner and outer barrels should be changed regularly so as to keep it clean and prevent dirt from coming into the barrels.
